چکیده
Objective: Patent ductus arteriosus is associated with multiple complications and high neonatal mortality. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy benefits of paracetamol compared ibuprofen indomethacin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs usually used close in premature newborns. Data source: We searched PubMed, SciELO, Lilacs, Bireme, ClinicalTrials.gov Embase databases for articles published between January 2005 December 2020. The descriptors were: newborn, patent arteriosus, pharmacotherapy, closure / acetaminophen. quality was evaluated by classification Oxford Centre Evidence based Medicine. synthesis: comparable that it lower rates gastrointestinal intracerebral hemorrhage, spontaneous intestinal perforation, thrombocytopenia, hepatic renal intolerance, serum values urea, creatinine, bilirubin. Furthermore, more advantageous than placebo or nonintervention may be best option cases contraindications other drugs. Gestational age birth weight were factors influenced showed reduced extremely newborns low very weights. Conclusions: Other clinical prospective studies are needed support indication arteriosus. However, this drug proves a promising pharmacological alternative, having similar classic drugs, fewer adverse effects.

Intravenous Paracetamol and Patent Ductus Arteriosus Closure
Background: Standard medical treatments for patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) closure are, including indomethacin/ibuprofen and surgical ligation. Nowadays, a new strategy to close PDA is the use of paracetamol. The present study aimed to describe the use of intravenous (IV) paracetamol for PDA closure in neonates who present a contraindication to ibuprofen or ibuprofen failure with no possibility...
متن کاملParacetamol for Closure of Patent Ductus Arteriosus.
Paracetamol can be used cautiously as the first line drug in the absence of indomethacin/ibuprofen or when these drugs are contraindicated. Larger studies comparing paracetamol versus indomethacin/ibuprofen in symptomatic PDA may be needed before paracetamol can be accepted as the first line drug in treatment of PDA. It would be worthwhile to also follow-up this cohort to see the neuro-developm...

In preterm infants, failure or delay in spontaneous closure of Ductus Arteriosus (DA), resulting in the condition of Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA), represents a significant issue. A prolonged situation of PDA can be associated with several short- and long-term complications. Despite years of researches and clinical experience on PDA management, unresolved questions about the treatment and hete...
متن کاملPatent ductus arteriosus in premature neonates.
Persistent patency of the ductus arteriosus is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in premature infants. In infants born prior to 28 weeks of gestation, a haemodynamically significant patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) can cause cardiovascular instability, exacerbate respiratory distress syndrome, prolong the need for assisted ventilation and increase the risk of bronchopulmonary dysplasia, in...

Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) is a persistent patency of a vessel normally present in the fetus that connects the pulmonary arterial system to the aorta. The ductus arteriosus fails to close at birth when breathing commences and placental blood circulation is removed. Closure of the ductus arteriosus arises in response to decline pulmonary vascular resistance and increased systemic vascular re...
